I took two weeks off over Christmas and New Year and instead of going on a holiday I opted for a different type of change – moving house and office.
Said to be one of the most stressful things to do (and I won’t pretend there weren’t times I thought it would be easier just to stay put), moving a house and an office with two young children and at the time of year when many businesses in Launceston shut down was a new beginning for my family, my business and me.
My eldest son started prep at the school a 500m walk away. He loves walking to and from school with me – and so do I. My younger son loves helping me bake in our bigger kitchen and my husband is relishing the chance to start the garden he has always wanted. For me, I can now walk to town for meetings, love living closer to my friends but best of all, I have a separate office with its own entrance once again.
A minor thing to some, a lockable door that is outside the house makes a big difference to my business mindset. With the move and Christmas over I feel more able to focus my energies on work and I am doing it in space that is dedicated solely to Strawberry Communications. This picture shows the new Strawberry Patch.
Here is what has changed:
• I am more productive
• I feel more confident in my abilities as a business owner
• People are noticing this attitude and want to work with me
I’m enjoying not only the new scenery, but also the new space in which I can create incredible things for my clients and my business.
What affect does change have on you?
