Online children’s clothing and accessories boutique A Little Bit of Cheek has teamed up with online parenting website Little Billies to produce an exclusive range of rock-inspired reward charts.

Raegan Foldesdy from A Little Bit of Cheek and Sarah Dawson from Little Billies developed the Rock Star, Rock Dude and Rock Chick charts just for the online boutique.

The charts come in a range of colours to suit every little rock star personality, Ms Foldesdy said.

“The charts have taken on a personality of their own and will definitely engage the toddlers who are the up and coming rockers of this world,” she said.

“If your rock star needs taming, be sure to check out these creative and funky designs!

“Our charts are a great way to recognise and reward good behaviour in young children. Each chart has 10 squares to fill, with 3-4 behaviours concentrated on at one time. This means it will take a couple of days to complete, which teaches your child delayed gratification as well,” Ms Foldesdy added.

Little Billies specialises in products that reinforce good attitudes and behaviours in children and help make parenting as positive experience.

Parenting expert Laura Kiln from Stamp Out said reward charts worked well, if realistic goals were set for the children to achieve.

“It is important to create a positive environment for the child with a reward chart by starting with behaviour they can already do,” Ms Kiln explained.

“For the next two or three charts make it a bit more difficult, for instance behaviour they can do, but sometimes need a reminder. By the end of their fourth or fifth chart you will find they are ready to tackle difficult behaviour.

“There are all sorts of ways we can reinforce good behaviour. With reward charts we are not bribing – we are rewarding the behaviour we want to see more of,” she said.

The Rock Star Reward Charts – Stage 1 include an A4 magnetised sheet, with 48 magnets to suit a range of good toddler behaviours, such as dressing themselves, helping and sharing. They are available exclusively from www.alittlebitofcheek.com.au for $24.95.

Stage 2 magnets for older children (three and over) can be pre-ordered from A Little Bit of Cheek and will arrive within the next few weeks. These charts help encourage children in life skills, such as a clean room and doing homework, and heart attitudes, such as kindness and patience.

A Little Bit of Cheek also stocks children’s clothing, gifts and accessories, which online shoppers can buy from the comfort of their own home.
