Hobart author Helen Hayward will be at Launceston book shop Petrarch’s on Saturday to sign her book, Home Work.
Home Work is Helen’s fourth book, which she describes as “a first-person self-help book about the home which, spanning 30 years, seeks to reclaim the domestic space as meaningful and therapeutic.
Importantly, home work isn’t the same as house work. It’s a much larger animal that includes cooking, celebrating, cleaning, errands, finances, gardening, hobbies, laundry, maintenance, organising, pets and renovating. By viewing home work as a practice, akin to yoga and eating well, my hope is that more people will embrace it as an essential part of living well.
Home Work was published late last year and has been selling well (it has already gone to reprint). Helen will be at Petrarch’s signing copies and speaking with readers on March 2.
