When trusted products for children are found to be dangerous a collective shudder runs down the spines of parents everywhere, so these parents then search for a product they feel is safe for their offspring.
Queensland mother Amy Arnold developed the new children’s natural skincare and play cosmetic brand Miss Kate with this need in mind and launched her business in early 2011.
After searching for natural Australian products for her own daughters and reading articles about internationally renowned brands missing the mark, like Johnson & Johnson’s baby bath carcinogen scare (Source – Forbes.com), Amy saw there was a gap in the market and set about creating the products herself.
Miss Kate includes a range of eco-friendly and non-toxic lip balms, body lotions, bath wash, pillow spray and play makeup suitable for children of all ages. The products are all made in Australia and comply with Australian, US, UK, European and Asian natural cosmetic ingredients. Miss Kate has also been certified Toxic-Free by Safe Cosmetics Australia.
“Like so many girls my daughters love playing with makeup and want to use beautiful products in the bath so they smell good, but I couldn’t find anything for them that was natural and Australian made. I had identified a gap so then decided to fill it by creating the products I wanted to buy for my children,” Amy explained.
“Miss Kate cosmetic products are designed to aid children’s wellbeing and include natural essential oils like lavender, rose and citrus for flavour and scent. These products have been created to make children feel special – and their parents comfortable in the knowledge that the products are completely safe to use,” she said.
Miss Kate cosmetics can be purchased from the Miss Kate shop and prices start from $15.
